Guident Congratulates its EPA Client for Recent Recognition
Guident would like to congratulate the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Emergency Response and Removal Program for its recent recognition by Government Computer News. This EPA program was selected as an Honorable Mention for the 2011 GCN Awards, which honor federal, state and local government for their extraordinary IT accomplishments and significant contributions to the performance of their agencies. These accolades recognize the best of breed for the top IT programs across the public sector.
The EPA Emergency Response and Removal Program was recognized for playing a key role in the response to one of the largest disasters in U.S. history: the BP Oil Spill. The team was able to implement a comprehensive environmental data management system that aimed to translate field work into electronic data, facilitate data capture and provide the ability to quickly develop reports with actionable information. In addition, this solution increased the government's transparency to the public, which was vital to the Gulf region and to concerned citizens around the country and the world. This is a well-deserved award for such a dedicated, hard working team. For a listing of all winners, please visit: http://gcn.com/pages/gcn-gala/2011/winners.aspx.
